From the President

Dear Koonung Heights Netball Club families,

Welcome to the Koonung Heights Netball Club. I would particularly like to welcome families who are playing with our club for the first time this season, I hope you enjoy your time with us. To returning families, thank you for your continuing support.

I also need to thank all of you who have worked hard to organise teams, coaches, umpires, training venues, balls and a multitude of other things needed to get the club organised for the opening round. Like all volunteer clubs we always need more support to run the club, please don’t be shy putting your hand up. So if you would like to become more involved in the club please contact me or one of the other committee members.

Our coach coordinators and selectors have spent a lot of time forming teams for this season that have a balanced group of players of similar ability levels to cover all playing positions. Players and parents need to understand that teams will change from year to year as new players join and old ones leave the club and to take account of players varying rates of physical and skill development. When team changes occur, both players and parents are encouraged to enjoy meeting and playing with new people.

I encourage each of you to remember that as much as we love our game, we love it when people are having fun!

Our community participates in netball at a number of levels and we expect the spirit of the game to be upheld by everyone – whether you’re a spectator, player, umpire or coach!

PLEASE REMEMBER

  • The umpires are human.
  • This is a game.
  • The coaches are volunteers.
  • These are kids.
  • This is not the State Championship.

I hope every club member has an enjoyable season and wish each team success.
